Message TWS - CCW (for me)

1. straight line
2. no brake, just lift to manage speed on entry
3. straight line
4. straight line
5. slight tap and lift for rotation
6. straight line
7. slight tap or lift or full out if yours are big enough
8. straight line with a little trailbraking at end
9. no brake
10. heavy straight with alot of trailbrake
11. slight lift
12. straight and a little trail brake
13. no brake
14. no brake
15. no brake

I do take it easy out there though which is why I'm only at the 2:00 barrier. I'm sure my cars are faster, I just don't have the pair to go flat out through 1, 7, and 12 like I know I could. I also chicken out going into turn 1 and coast to the braking zone at 138mph...

H2R CW

1 slight lift
2 straight
3 no brake
4 all trailbrake
5 straight just due to the off camber
6 very slight lift
7 trailbrake to get rotation
8 lift
9 no brake
10 heavy straight with trailbrake
11 no brake

The above is for me, so if anyone else has never been out to H2R don't try to do the above. Other than 4 and 10 I still teach straight line braking out there to green and blue students. It just takes seat time to get the most out of that track. It's very easy to pick up, just hard to master.

Straight vs trailbraking is an experience thing, most driving schools will always teach straight line braking just because it's safer for new students and those not familiar with their car's characteristics yet. It's also very easy to teach at H2R in turns 4 and 10. You just aren't going fast enough to go off when you spin and really helps show you the limits of the traction.

I still stick to my opionion though, TWS is a balls track, not technical. :) Run TWS as many times as you have H2R and you will get comfortable with the larger track and more turns. If you only ran a 1 day at TWS it's hard to get comfortable with the 2.9 miles and 15 turns compared to the 1.8 at H2R. The increasing radius and on camber really help out there with confidence. Just remember to respect the track, it's the only track that I run frequently that someone totals a car at almost every time.

If you really want turns that complement each other then run up to MSRC sometime. It's a blast! Especially when they run the 3.1. It's more technical than TWS is, but I still think H2R is the most technical track in Texas. I haven't ran ECR though so not sure on that one, from what I hear it's just a high horsepower and heavy braking track. Until they get the surface fixed I probably won't go out there... Hallet is worth a trip too, very fun and challenging track.
